The wonder of a newborn's cry
Croon of mother's lullaby
A sleepy child's contented sigh
They sing Creation's Song

Geri's Bio

Geri was born Geraldine Sheryll Simpson in Winnipeg, Manitoba in July of 1946. Her Mom laughingly says that it was the hottest day of that year but the results were worth it.

Geri enjoyed "doodling" on her school books but it never really occurred to her that she could do anything else. One rainy day at the Lake, she was watching her sister, who is a very gifted artist, work on a charcoal drawing. She remembers thinking "I wonder if I could do that, sometimes talent runs in families". She gathered up some pencils and paper and sat down with a photo of a family member with the idea in mind of trying to capture his likeness. Strangely, her fingers just seemed to "know" what to do and her first attempt was so successful she knew she had a "gift" as well.

Geri has no formal training in art. Everything she does is instinctive and pretty much everything she has learned has just come through the doing of it.

She draws and paints things that appeal to her or things that carry a deeper spiritual meaning for her. She plans to continue enjoying "The Journey", learning and growing along the way. She loves encouraging others whenever and wherever possibly to use and enjoy the gifts God has given them. Those gifts are treasures, not meant to be "hidden under a bushel", but are meant to be brought out into the Light for others to enjoy, giving glory to the King of ALL Creation!
