Character Descriptions
Yukio Tanaka (Koyuki) The main character of the anime. Koyuki lives a typical teenage life until he meets Ryuusuke. He becomes interested in music which eventually leads him to learning the guitar and become the second vocalist in Ryuusuke's band, BECK. He also develops a love interest in Ryuusuke's sister, Maho. 
Minami Ryuusuke (Ray) The Japanese-American lead guitarist and leader of the band. Owns a Les Paul Gibson guitar named Lucille which was stolen from Leon Sykes. Used to play in a band called The Dying Breed whom are very big in the U.S. He lives alone in a shack by a fishing pond. 
Tsunemi Chiba Despite his rugged look (his afro) and his bad boy personality, Chiba's a straight-A-student at his school and a very good figther as well helping Koyuki beat down his bullies. He's the lead vocals in BECK and does all the advertising for the group. 
Yoshiyuki Taira The bass guitarist of the band. Had a choice of joining BECK or Eiji's band ... but in the end he chose BECK because he thought that the band had the "magic" he was looking for. He likes to play with his shirt off. 
Sakurai Hiroshi Koyuki's best friend and the drummer of the band. It also seems that he doesn't have eyes. 
Minami Maho The love interest of Koyuki and the sister of Ryuusuke. She's the one that discovers Koyuki's singing talent which played a big factor letting Koyuki play in the band. She also has quite a singing voice. 
Beck Stolen from Leon Sykes' car along with Lucille (Ryuusuke's guitar). Not an ordinary looking dog having sew patches all over his body. The band was named after him. 
Saitou Kenichi Koyuki's swimming coach and guitar teacher. Loves pornagraphy and changes his perverted ways when he starts going out with Koyuki's school teacher. 
Ishiguro Izumi Koyuki's old crush until he meets maho. Izumi's on the swimming team and was the one that introduced The Dying Breed to Koyuki. 
Leon Sykes Former owner of Beck (the dog) and Lucille (Ryuusuke's guitar). He's a very popular record producer and offered Koyuki a deal for a solo album which he refused. Has another dog almost exactly like Beck but a different breed named Keith. |
