Scenes from previous mission trips
We have been taking teams on missions in Canada and overseas for over 11 years now. To get a feel for who we are and what we've done on our missions, enjoy the scenes below!
The Sound of Hope - Rwanda 2007
In July, 2007, a team of 7 people from across Canada worked for 3 weeks in Rwanda. The first 8 days were spent in Butare, the site of Rwanda's national university. We held meetings with university students daily, ran programs for hundreds of children at the two schools run by Africa Mission Alliance, and helped to establish a recording studio. The Rwandese people are amazingly warm and loving. Crowds of children follow you everywhere, calling out "Muzungu!" (white man). In addition to these ministries, AMA runs vocational training programs for widows, arranges sponsorships for kids, and runs a feeding program.
The rest of the time was spent in the capital, Kigali, working with YWAM Rwanda. After a hiatus of several years, they were re-launching King's Kids Rwanda. We worked closely with Arnie and Winnie, directors of KK Rwanda, and their amazing co-workers. To check out the amazing experiences we had, click on the "Rwanda 07 blog" link at the left.
To Rwanda with love 2003
This is such a beautiful country!! It's not for nothing that Rwanda's been called "The Switzerland of Africa". We ran a 6-day camp program for about 150 kids, including dance, art, bible memory, drama, and lots and lots of singing. At a major Christian conference, our team presented drama and dance in front of about 5,000 people. We built a mud hut for a widow with aids, washed the feet of other widows in repentance for the failures of the West. We also worked with local ministries in Kigali and Butare which help widows and orphans. Of course, touring genocide sites helps us to understand this country.
Journey to Jerusalem - Israel 2000
As we journeyed with a network of Canadian intercessors, we realized that there had been much anti-Semitism in Canada’s past. We also felt that there were specific things that we needed to pray for in co-operation with God’s end time purposes for Israel. In August 2000 we took a King’s Kids team from across Canada with heritage from around the world to Israel. Our purposes were to repent for Canada’s anti-Semitic past, to pray that God would release His people to return to Israel from the four corners of the earth, and that God would send laborers into the harvest field.
Healing Canada's Wounds - Montreal 1998
In order to promote reconciliation and heal the wounds in Canada between French and English, a team of young people from all across Canada spent 2 weeks working with churches, camps, and missions in and around Montreal. Boot camp was held at a chalet in the woods near Brownsburg, Quebec (see if you can find it on the map!) and some powerful prayer-walks were held there. The team did performing arts and service outreaches in churches, parks, missions, and camps. Key prayer and intercession events were held around the cross on Mt. Royal, and praying over the city from lookout points. Presentations were given in both French and English.
