Vegetable Korma


Vegetable korma is a type of mild curry dish that originated in India and is often made with yoghurt sauce, cream, or nuts.

Peking Pork Chops

This delicious dish of crispy pork in a flavourful tasty sweet sauce is a family favorite.

INGREDIENTS

1 lb. pork back ribs
¾ tsp ea. salt, sugar
½ Tbsp cooking or sherry
½ Tbsp chopped garlic clove
1 ½ Tbsp cornstarch
Oil for frying
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ Tbsp ketchup
1 ½ Tbsp water
Dash of sesame oil


DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut the ribs into 15 pieces; mix with first 5 ingredients. Add cornstarch and mix thoroughly.
  2. Heat the wok then add oil. Deep fry the ribs over medium heat for about 4 minutes, or until golden brown; remove. Reheat the oil; deep fry the ribs again for 1 minute. Remove and drain.
  3. Bring the last five ingredients to a boil. Add the deep fried ribs; stir fry over high heat until liquid has almost completely evaporated. Remove and serve.
  4. Worcestershire sauce may be substituted with 2 tsp. soy sauce and 1 tsp. white vinegar.
