The Wolseley Residents' Association (WRA) is a community-based, non-partisan group providing opportunities for residents of Wolseley to work on issues that concern us as a community. The WRA's focus is community. It has a tiny budget, and no real resources other than the goodwill and effort of our neighbors.
The Wolseley area also includes West Broadway, Armstrong's Point, and West Wolseley - from St. James Street to Osborne Street, and from Portage Avenue south to the Assiniboine River. See Map. If you live in this area, you are automatically a member of the WRA and entitled to participate in any WRA meetings and vote at all general meetings. Most WRA events are open to all, whether residents or not.
Strong communities need committed citizens! Please make a point of coming to the next WRA meeting. Look for info on The Wolseley Gazette's "Community News & Information" page. Your community needs YOU to be involved!
Objectives of the Wolseley Residents' Association:
- To represent the interests of the residents of the Wolseley area, to respond to concerns raised by them, to alert residents to problems, and to disseminate information.
- To engage in long-term planning for the future of the area.
- To take appropriate action where deemed necessary by the members.
- To advocate and lobby for community issues within the policy decisions of the community and in response to residents' concerns.
- To maintain productive and supportive relationships with the community groups within the boundaries of the WRA and other resident activist organizations in Winnipeg within the policy direction established by the community.
