Course Description
The course will introduce beginning to intermediate Web Site Developers to concepts common in the WWW industry. Awareness will be made of the various areas of expertise and skill sets required of a Web Site Developer. Students will have the opportunity to plan and to build a personal web site based upon following a logical process of information design. Other topics in the course are geared towards the latest technologies of the web.

The course covers two main topical areas
1. Web site planning and design - creation of a design document and information architecture
2. Hands on development - writing the code - HTML

Students will become familiar with using web browsers, information design and architecture, basic HTML, security, and basic project management as it applies to web development.
 
Course Format
Concepts will be developed through class sessions, exercises, assignments, and class discussion. Weekly lectures will present new topics to the class. The class will then have the opportunity to practice the lessons through exercises and activities.

Resources will be added online and will be provided as handouts as required.
Course Textbook
Sexy Web Design will provide for you solid examples of what professional graphic design looks like and the approach a graphic designer will take to produce a 'sexy' website. You will learn some of the techiques a designer can take to provide solid, eye-pleasing designs that the client will love.
