Creating Your First Web Page You now have an opportunity to begin working on some of your first web pages. The exercises provided this week will take you through doing what was presented either in-class (Continuing Ed Students) or in the Week One Video (Distance Ed Students).
It is my expectation that you will SOLELY use Notepad on Windows for the creation of ALL pages in this course. Please do not be tempted to use tools like FrontPage/Expression or DreamWeaver. You'll have plenty of time to use editors such as those in the future. Right now I want you to concentrate on learning to write clean HTML source code.
MAC USERS -- Obviously you can't be using Notepad on Windows, so instead you'll use TextEdit on your computer. However in order to use it like Notepad you need to set it up to allow you to edit HTML documents and use plain text. Learn how to do that here. If you have questions after let me know.
So with Notepad or TextEdit firmly in-hand - please go forth and write your first HTML documents by completing the Week One Exercises. created: 2009-09-16 |
