Lewis Carroll

Both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Alice's Adventures Through the Looking Glass (also known by their shortend titles of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass) were excellently read by Christopher Plummer.

Plummer has talked about reading children's stories for audio books and his enjoyment of it. For example he told journalist Pamela Wallin on her TV series how some children's stories he finds moving. And his reading in this case of the two Carroll books really shows how good of an actor he is. Some performers can really express themselves with audio books and it tests their abilities on how good they really are as actors. Also Christopher Plummer had acted on radio when radio was still the place where people got their fictional dramas as well as news and music. He worked in radio as well as TV and stage in Canada in both French (which he's fluent in) and English in his earlier acting years. So probably his experience with radio became useful when reading audio books.

When it comes to audio book performances, Plummer is one of the best without a doubt.
